Call for Scores - winners announced!

Our 2026 Call for Scores is now completed. Thank you to all composers for sharing your music with us. As always, it was a pleasure listening to these works over the past month.

We are delighted to announce this year’s two winners:

Fergus Hall and Kate Milligan

Both composers will write us a quartet to sit alongside Henri Dutilleux’s Les Citations and Bára Gísladóttir’s Seven heavens (of different heights (and depths)) in our chamber programme at The Night With… in February 2027.

About Riot Ensemble

Riot Ensemble is an internationally renowned group dedicated to the creation, exploration and presentation of great contemporary works and new music yet to be discovered. Based in the UK, the ensemble comprises top European soloists who perform, curate, commission, and collaborate on a diverse array of projects including performances across the UK, international festival appearances, multi-year residencies and mentorships at conservatoires and universities, and a yearly Call for Scores. Their work has been shortlisted for RPS Awards in several categories and has been recognised by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation’s prestigious Ensemble Prize in 2020.
