Claudia Maria Racovicean

Romanian pianist Claudia Maria Racovicean has performed solo Bach alongside world and UK premieres of chamber music at the Spitalfields Festival, and gave the UK premiere of Lee Hyla’s My Life on the Plains at the Huddersfield Festival of Contemporary Music in 2015. Her debut album, On A Clear Day, features music from the romantic to the avant-garde including Copland, Liszt, Debussy, Matthias Pintscher and transcriptions of Hugo Wolf songs for solo piano.

Claudia has performed live from Southbank on BBC Radio 3 and, as co-princpal pianist of The Riot Ensemble, has worked closely with living composers such as Helga Arias Parra, Djuro Zivkovic, and the New Music Brighton Composers Collective in giving more than two-dozen World and UK premieres. Internationally, Claudia has performed throughout Romania, Northern Ireland, Hungary, Italy, Germany and Austria, and has performed multiple concerti with orchestras including the Arad Philharmonic Orchestra and Timisoara Symphony Orchestra. Claudia received both her BM and MMus in Piano Performance at the Royal Academy of of Music, where she studied with Ian Fountain.
