Works by an international array of emerging composers placed alongside and in the context of masterworks from the contemporary repertoire has formed the foundation of Riot’s programming since we founded in 2012.  Many of our commissions feature on our growing discovery, and all of our concerts result in other digital recordings and videos.  Our annual call for scores receives roughly 300 applicants, and has resulted in more than a dozen commissions of composers from all over the world.

Since 2012, we’ve given more than one-hundred-eighty premieres on our concerts, and have hosted composers from Australia, Italy, Hungary, Argentina, Brazil, Austria, Spain, France, South Korea and the United States to hear their music performed in the UK for the first time.  We commission brand new work, and spend a lot of time listening to music – both in live concerts and digitally – to find music we’re passionate about playing for our audiences.

  1. Loved all the music at the concert last night…..with fantastic commitment from all the performers……thank you.

I especially liked the Helen Grime and Jonathan Harvey….but also Lend/Lease by David Lang, and parts of the fragment by J.C. Clark, and the Dreams, Shadows, Smoke by Patrick Harrex

    Thanks again
